La actriz cubano-española Ana de Armas, logró este martes su primera nominación al Oscar por su papel de Marilyn Monroe en Blonde, dirigida por Andrew Dominik.
Una interpretación por la que ya estuvo nominada a los Globos de Oro y también es finalista a los Bafta de este año, que se entregarán el próximo 19 de febrero, y a los premios del Sindicato de Actores de Hollywood, que se fallarán el 27 de febrero.
La actriz se enfrentará a Cate Blanchett (Tar), que es la gran favorita, y a Michelle Yeoh (Todo a la vez en todas partes), Andrea Riseborough (To Leslie) y Michelle Williams (Los Fabelman).

Ana de Armas ya estuvo nominada al Globo de Oro a mejor actriz de comedia o musical en 2020 por su papel en la primera entrega de Puñales por la espalda, pero no logró llegar al quinteto final de los Oscar.
Actores españoles y cubanos ganadores y nominados al Oscar
Hasta ahora solo dos actores españoles, Javier Bardem y Penélope Cruz, han ganado el Oscar, en las categorías de actores de reparto por No es país para viejos (2008) y Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2009). Además, ambos han sido nominados en otras tres ocasiones.
El otro actor español nominado al Oscar es Antonio Banderas, al de mejor protagonista, por su papel en Dolor y gloria (Pedro Almodóvar), en 2019.
En cuanto a intérpretes cubanos, solo Andy García había logrado ser nominado al Oscar anteriormente. Fue en 1991, a mejor actor secundario, por El Padrino III, de Francis Ford Coppola.
Por cierto que Blonde es una película que cursó controversia desde mucho antes de su estreno, ha sido vilipendiada por la mayoría de la crítica y ninguneada por el público.
La prueba es que pocas horas antes, los premios Razzie (que distinguen a lo peor de Hollywood de cada año), habían nominado a Blonde en ocho candidaturas, peor película, peor director, peor remake o secuela, peor guión, peor pareja interpretativa y, por duplicado, peor actor de reparto (para Xavier Samuel y Evan Williams). Lo único que han salvado de la película es, precisamente, la interpretación de Ana de Armas.
